Our whole world has suddenly changed. This can be a daunting experience and we all have to adapt to how we do things and how we learn. But this time can be an amazing opportunity to catch up and learn something new and exciting!
Set your aims
Now is a great time to set targets of what you want to achieve before you return to school. Maybe this is an ideal time for you to revisit some maths you found challenging earlier in the year.
Perhaps you want to get a head start in your GCSE work, or you want to prepare for an entrance exam in the autumn. Online tuition can be a great way for you to get that head start going into next year.
Writing down your goals can be a great way to stay focused. Try writing down a goal for each subject. Your tutor can help you create a plan and some specific goals for you to aim for.
Furthermore, they can hold you accountable and ensure that you work hard together to meet it.
If you are not sure of what goals to set, ask your tutor! Making goals don’t just have to be for schoolwork, one of your goals may be learning to cook a meal or reading a book.
Mix up your days
You need to have a varied day. This may involve different ways of working, with working independently on schoolwork, having a lesson with your online tutor and using online resources such as educational videos.
Online tuition is a great way to add some variety to your day. You could set up homework clubs with your classmates via skype or zoom. This is a way of motivating each other to do the work and ask each other for guidance when stuck.
It is also important to mix up your days with other activities. Make sure you are getting in physical activity each day. This could be a walk, playing in the garden, or maybe you could even try Joe Wicks PE lessons!
Learn something new
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn something new or get stuck into something you are passionate about. Let your online tutor know what your interests are and see if they can theme your lessons on subjects to make your lessons exciting.
Maybe there is a book you are reading, and your tutor can plan activities around the theme of your book. Maybe you love sport and your lessons can have a sports theme.
This can be also an opportunity to learn about a new topic, whilst developing skills needed for your school subjects. Talk to your tutor so they can tailor lessons that you will love!
An online tutor can keep in close contact with you from the comfort of your own home to ensure you have a clear strategy on how to succeed in your education.
