Private School Teacher Samuel London Oratory School

Private School Teacher Samuel

Description: Samuel is a classroom teacher at The London Oratory School as well as a part time private tutor. He runs group revision sessions which sparked his passion for teaching in a more formal environment.

He has tutored privately for over 5 years. He is also a water polo athlete and has represented Team GB globally. Here’s a snippet of his tutor profile.

I tutor Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at both GCSE and A level Grades.

I believe in a holistic approach when tutoring and that given the correct approach everyone can achieve top grades. In our first lesson I try to understand why a student is not achieving the grades in a topic of your choice.

Once any weaknesses have been identified I create a personalised revision plan combined with helpful revision strategies for each subject to help reach the target grade.

I use a range of techniques such as online flashcards which allows close monitoring of progress when improving a lack of content or alternatively weekly exam style questions if exam technique is a problem.

Understanding weaknesses and having a good detailed plan has proven to have worked well with many of my previous students. Below I have a list of the universities and 6th form schools which I have helped my students secure places.

I am also happy to help to with any queries with applications to universities where I can give advice on admission tests and personal statements. Having previously helped students receive several medical offers I am up to date with the latest admissions policies for all medical school and the according admissions exams.

Following is the list of few of the some of the few commendable schools and universities where my students have secured places.

Oxford
Imperial
UCL
Warwick
Leeds
Bath
Bristol
Southampton
Kings College London
The University of Manchester
Harrow School
St Mary’s Ascot
Lady Margaret School
The London Oratory School

Outside the classroom I am also a keen athlete and coach. I originally started playing sport alongside my studies to relax but found it had a very positive effect on my school studies too.

I encourage all my students to live a balanced lifestyle as I think it is essential for them to reap the benefits of a healthy life.

My passion for the sport has enabled me to be part of the GB team and travel around the globe. I am also proud to say that one of the youth teams I coach won the school’s U11 national water polo tournament.
