An interest in art is all you need for my fun, creative art lessons that will improve you or your child’s skills very quickly. Art and creativity gives your child a more holistic education and a general feeling of well-being and personal satisfaction. I teach all ages and abilities from primary school children( 5+) learning to draw and paint for the very first time to an absolute beginner or advanced adults and everything in between. I tailor the lessons to the individual to incorporate their personal interests and discuss what they want to achieve from these lessons. A student may be needing academic help with her GCSE/A Level homework or an older student may need to build a portfolio very quickly to enter an art college and progress a career in the creative fields.
One such student was Aiyisha, a student from Dubai who wished to study animation in the UK, but she had very limited art training from her school and was very low on artwork. In one month with intensive lessons she walked away with an A2 portfolio that was brimming with creativity and ideas that saw her accepted into the London art college she desired. We also met up and I took her on some art tours of the galleries and museums in London to introduce her to the capitals vibrant creative scene and talk about the artists and artworks. She learned new skills and techniques in these lessons which will stay with her throughout her career and we also had a lot of fun along the way.
Another student is Hugo, he is a Chinese boy aged 5 settling into living in the UK and going to a new school. His mother wanted him to have a formal training in painting alongside his piano lessons and he is an ongoing student with me who is creating beautiful artwork in after school lessons. He is having a very cultural upbringing which will enhance his knowledge and skills in the future. Art opens the mind to new ways of thinking and looking at the world.
Sarah, a GCSE Art student of mine was suffering from acute anxiety due to bullying. She had to catch up on her lessons as she had slipped quite far behind, but with hard work in a calm 1 to 1 environment and talking through her work and life in general, she achieved a high pass and was well enough to then gain a place at a sixth form college to do A-levels. She found the lessons very therapeutic and regained her focus away from the hectic school environment she had found so challenging.
I specialise in teaching all forms of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, collage, art theory/history/analysis, architectural theory and fashion and general illustration. I can also give advice on other art forms like photography, textile design, animation, jewellery design, graphic design and digital art and art therapy. I am passionate about my subject and I hope to pass my enthusiasm, knowledge and skills onto my students.
With todays stressful school/work environment, art is the perfect release for anyone and is hugely beneficial to create an overall sense of calm and tranquility. A career in the arts is also a strong and exciting possibility and can be nutured from an early age.
