Private Science and Maths Tutor Bethany

Description: A short snippet of one of our highly rated Science and Maths tutor, Bethany W. She has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Forensic Sciences. Bethany is currently helping several students who are studying the PYP syllabus at one of London’s best international schools. She often goes above and beyond for our clients and she has helped our students make some incredible progress in their studies.

I am a Forensic Biology graduate with expertise in Toxicology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. I currently work as a Laboratory Technician in a North London University. My areas of interest consist of, but aren’t limited to, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and data analysis. I enjoy helping others and find it so rewarding when I have successfully aided a student with their understanding and witness them progress further. I am a firm believer that no question should be marked as a ‘silly question’, if you are thinking about it it can’t possibly be silly. Perhaps your previous method of learning a new concept is just different to what is best for you. I am available to tutor both in person as well as using our online interactive whiteboard.

Teaching Experience

I have previously supported Undergraduate students on their projects whilst I completed my Master’s qualification. This involved demonstrating and explaining concepts and theory regarding the instruments we were using and the science behind their use. This not only strengthened my knowledge for myself but also taught me how to concisely synthesise large complex pieces of information into smaller, manageable parts that were easily understood.

The was an incredibly useful and valuable experience for my current role whereby I now frequently support and teach both individuals and groups of students at London Metropolitan Unversity. Although my primary role is technical support for laboratory protocols, this often involves teaching my own small group of internal and external students various techniques and procedures in both biology and chemistry.
