About Me
Hello, my name is Jade. I have a passion for the subjects I tutor which makes teaching a really enjoyable experience for both myself and my students.
Despite going on to study History and Politics in further education, I have a passion for English Literature and Language.
This is an interest that hasn’t faded since my time at school and is one that I am keen to share with students to encourage them to love learning as
much as I did.
I completed my schooling with an A in English Literature, A* in History, A* in Politics and an A* in my EPQ subject (focussed on the Middle East).
Furthermore, I achieved high-grading GCSE results including an 8 in the English Language, 9 in English Literature and 8 in History among others.
This demonstrates how I am well suited to students wanting to push themselves to achieve the highest grades in their subjects.
Teaching Experience
I have experience working with lower-grading students during my role as an English Buddy where I covered the basics of Year 7-8 English and helped students with reading.
My experience with the GCSE and A Level curriculum allows me to offer any student a tailored approach to learning that is focused on them, their goals and working at their pace with encouragement from myself.
In this role, I attended English lessons and aided the teacher by helping students during independent tasks and sitting with students who may require extra support during taught sections of the lesson.
For example, lots of the students I built relationships with had learning difficulties.
Therefore, I would sit with them during a time when the teacher was speaking, keep their interest high and engage in what was being taught and make sure they felt the lesson was going at a speed that suited them.
Then, during a task, I would often re-teach what terms/content had been covered and tailor tasks to the student I was working with.
