Over the years, I have come across parents contacting me in regards to finding a private tutor for their child for numerous different reasons. Some feel that their child is falling behind at school and require extra assistance beyond that of the classroom for 1 to 1 attention. The average number of students to teacher ratio is around 28:1, meaning that there is a lack of personal focus on a child’s education. The quality time spent with a tutor on a 1 to 1 basis can dramatically transform an individual’s academic performance. Other parents invest in private tutors to help give their child the highest chances of obtaining a place at competitive grammar and independent schools. The competition for placements is arguably on an annual increase. Most parents simply see education as one of the best investments one can ever make, and spending time with an experienced tutor is one of the best ways to unlock their true potential.
A child that regularly engages with a private tutor will often find that their overall confidence can improve dramatically, not only on an academic level but a personal one too. When a child’s grades improve it does wonders for their minds, and their approach to learning becomes more positive. When a child believes in themselves they are more likely to welcome more challenges and push themselves further. It is having that extra confidence which encourages them to become more independent thinkers and ultimately fulfill their potential. In my opinion, the confidence that inevitably grows through a guidance of a tutor can result in a child being successful and unsuccessful in many areas.
