Description: Emily is a Durham Graduate who specialises in Maths, English and Philosophy. She particularly teaches 11+, GCSE and A-Level students.
My name is Emily and I am a recent Theology Graduate from Durham University. My goal is to one day become an Educational Psychologist.
Having recently spent time working in a Pastoral Care department at a grammar school, I have also worked for special needs charities. This has enhanced me to develop my skills in working with those with additional needs but especially those with Autism of all kinds of severities.
I also have a great deal of experience as an 11+ tutor. I myself received full marks during my examinations and I very much wish to share my knowledge with others and lead them towards success.
Teaching Experience
Through my experience, I previously worked as a private tutor teaching 11+ for Independent Schools and maths up to GCSE. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring students with different abilities and feel honoured to be a part of their educational journey.
My time working in a Pastoral Care team at a grammar school for girls led me to work closely with students in the SEN department as well as many other students. Due to the rapport built with an autistic student within the school, I was asked to teach this student in PSHE. This expanded my skills in versatility alongside helping me build on my experience of educating.
All of these roles have required me to be adaptable, hard-working and thorough. Skills that will enhance me to be a reliable and effective tutor.
