11+ and Latin Tutor: Vega

Description: 11+ and Latin tutor, Vega is an experienced online tutor and graduate of Cambridge. Here is a short outline of her tutor profile.

About Me

I am a Cambridge MPhil graduate (Classics) with many years of online tutoring experience.

My passion for ancient languages and the ancient world as a whole motivated me to read a BA in Classics at Cambridge.

This is where I learnt both Latin and Greek ab initio.

I hope to bring this enthusiasm and love for knowledge to each of my lessons. My aim is to provide a mode of tuition which is suited to each individual student.

I am also an experienced 11+ tutor for Independent and grammar schools.

Teaching Experience

The majority of my tutoring experience has been preparing students in years 4 and 5 for their 11+ examinations.

I have taught general prep lessons for the 11+, as well as ones catered to specific exam boards (CEM and CSSE)

I have also successfully helped students attain positions in some of London’s top grammar/independent schools – eg: Haberdashers School

My expertise is in all aspects of the 11+ curriculum.

This includes Maths, English (Creative Writing and Reading Comprehension), Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning.

Having also previously taught GCSE English Language and Literature, I am able to mark essays and give feedback on top of teaching content-based lessons.

Latin/Ancient Languages

My experience in teaching ancient languages stems to the GCSE/ A Level Curriculum.

However, I am confident in my knowledge of both Latin and Ancient Greek.

I have had some other experience in a volunteer mentorship position assisting students with their university applications, particularly personal statements.

All my private tutor experience has been teaching one-to-one, both in person and online.
