I am pursuing a BSc Robotics Engineering degree. I received a first-class honours during both my first and second years at university, while also working over 20 hours per week. During my second year, I worked as a design engineer for a start-up company. I attended a public school in Cyprus, where I achieved an overall score of 19.1/20. I also achieved an A in Further Mathematics at A-Level.
After high school, I completed my national service in Cyprus for one year. I learned many useful skills in the military, such as teamwork, resilience, and determination. I cherish the skills and knowledge I gained there, and I apply them in my day to day life.
In my time spent working as a design engineer, I have gained a lot of practical experience. Working in the R&D department involved operating power tools, and designing and building prototypes. While working in this role, I managed to contribute to a patent.
I am currently on my placement year, working as a junior electrical engineer for an engineering company based in Italy. I design electrical circuits for industrial purposes, such as for vending machines.
In my second year at university, I won several start-up scholarships for a business idea I had created. During those scholarships, I learned how to run a business and how to raise capital for a start-up.
I was a leader in Peer Assisted Learning at university. This involved tutoring groups of students from the year below me. The main subjects I taught were Engineering Mathematics, C programming, and Electronics. At the end of the academic year, my students nominated me for an award. As a Private Online Maths Tutor, it brings me joy every time I help a student to see the real beauty of mathematics.
