I am a full time primary school teacher based in London specialising in primary school education and preparation for the 11+. This has given extensive experience over the years in tutoring in evenings and the weekend.

Prior to this I studied for a degree in law with business and worked in the legal field and other graduate positions before discovering my vocation to teach. I feel that this background has helped me become a well-rounded teacher and private tutor.

Having taught in the classroom, small groups and 1 to 1 I realise that a child benefits most when trying to comprehend a subject, and ultimately preparing for exams from dedicated sessions with a personal tutor.

Preparing and motivating children for academic achievement is something all parents should strive for and engage with various subject tutors in London.

In trusting their future with a private tutor, they must have the utmost confidence that the tutor is knowledgeable, experienced and adaptable and entirely focused in ensuring their child achieves success.

Under my leadership as Phonics lead across Key Stage 1 the group achieved a pass rate of over 90%. I have had multiple ‘outstanding’ observations and have recently become the Maths lead across both Key Stages.

A past tutee not only passed their 11+ but was accepted into their first-choice school, Eton. Seeing a child realise their potential and excel academically under my guidance is a daily source of inspiration

I believe in a holistic approach to teaching in the classroom and transfer this philosophy into my tuition work with great results. Teaching is not the same as tutoring however, and I possess the skills necessary to listen to a student’s needs and motivate them to push beyond what they have learnt in the classroom.

Instilling a strong foundation is the key to understanding concepts and progressing in the education system and I make sure all tutees are comfortable with the basics before moving forward with more complex material so they are confident in problem solving and forming opinions of their own.

Extracting the full potential of pupils and tutees also involves creating a fun, enriching learning environment, and I draw on my experience from the classroom to bring subjects to life in each tutor session.
