Physics and Maths Tutor Linnea

Description: Linnea is a STEM tutor with many years’ experience and has a degree in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London. She has been awarded a first class mark for every year of her degree so far and graduated in the top 10% of students worldwide in the International Baccalaureate after studying one of the most difficult subject combinations possible. Here’s a snippet of her tutor profile.

My subjects at IB level were high level Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and standard level English, Language, Environmental Systems and Societies. At university level I have continued my studies in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Human / Medical Biology and other engineering topics, such as programming.

I have been a Physics and Maths tutor for many years now. I see great potential for students of all abilities to succeed in these subjects. My experience in teaching to students of different ages helps me think of problems from different perspectives and narrow in to how a particular student can understand a concept best. I have worked as a Physics and Maths tutor to a year 4/5, as well as to a student preparing for GCSEs, both for over a year now.

In the past I have tutored young students in the frustrating process of learning to read for the first time which requires great patience, compassion and diligence. I display these qualities with all my students as I believe that learning takes place best in an environment where the student feels comfortable and supported. I also have experience teaching International Baccalaureate students English as a second language which again stretched my ability to see language and learning from another perspective.
