I graduated from the University of Nottingham in Natural Sciences BSc Hons. Motivating a student to better themselves and succeed academically is immensely rewarding. It naturally leads to personal development too. I have helped students become more confident, fearless and eager to work hard to achieve the best grades possible.
As a private maths and science tutor, my areas of focus are KS2, KS3, GCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I also have experience in various other capacities such as 11+ and 13+ prep, to name but a few! If I could describe my teaching style, it would be ‘structured yet fun.’
I spend the initial lessons building rapport, finding out about hobbies and interests and academic strengths and weaknesses. This provides a clear blueprint moving forward on how to tailor the lessons to the individual so that we can start seeing progress immediately!
I thoroughly enjoy uploading resources onto a shared whiteboard and working through them together with the student. It allows for a more interactive session and enables us to keep a log of the work we have done to-date.
I focus on demonstrating a high level of professionalism in all aspects of my teaching. The time I put in behind the scenes is what brings success to my students and supports their growth. The most important thing to me is a willingness to learn and open communication so that we can work together to reach a common goal.
