I have a first-class honours degree in mathematics from Glasgow University. I am currently pursuing a medical degree at Newcastle University. Throughout my time studying, I have tutored for a large range of ages and abilities in Maths and Functional Skills. I am therefore able to take students through preparation for their exams and provide guidance on exam questions.
Although Maths is where I have the most experience in tutoring, I can also teach Biology up to A-level. I am available on both evenings and weekends. My teaching style is based on the individual’s needs and capabilities. I understand that one style and method doesn’t fit all! I combine fun with clarity in my lessons, and I always encourage questions.
As a Maths and Science Private Tutor, my approach is tailored to each individual. This enhances their potential learning outcomes. One method and one style of learning won’t always fit everyone. I recognised this while helping my younger brother, who suffers from dyslexia, to understand different mathematical ideas.
Through my 8 years of experience in tutoring, I have learnt to be very flexible with my teaching approach. Empathy and engagement are my core values. This means creating content which resonates with the student and adds value for them. I am driven by my passion for Maths and Science. To be able to instil this in my students is the joy which makes teaching so worthwhile.
