Description: Private tutor Eleonore from LSE University (London School of Economics) who has been educated within the private school system starting from Bute House Preparatory School as a child. Here’s a snippet of her tutor profile.
Having obtained strong academic results (e.g. 8A*, 2A at GCSE), I have been predicted a First Class Honors degree, graduating in July 2020. I attended St Mary’s School, Ascot– an all girls boarding school in Berkshire – for my secondary school, and Bute House Preparatory School in London (after doing the 7+ exam from Kensington Preparatory School). I trained for my 11+ and 13+ exams, which also gave me places at St Paul’s Girls’ School (London), Wycombe Abbey, and Marlborough College. These experiences provide me with 11+ and 13+ exam skills, as well as interview practice and application help.
I am trained in First Aid by the Red Cross, and I am a private tutor in Kensington but happy to travel across London to meet with tutees as well as online on a 1 to 1 basis.
My teaching style is focused on the type of learner the tutee is; I am a firm believer in understanding the individual strengths of the students; the way in which they learn most effectively, such as whether they are visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic learners, and then using and adapting their chosen method in lessons.
For example, I had a 16 year old tutee who was struggling to understand river formations in A Level geography. After establishing that they loved drama and acting – demonstrating their kinaesthetic strengths – I showed them how to remember the different processes through hand gestures and actions. This was extremely effective.
As a tutor I am reliable, responsible and encouraging. I try to go above and beyond and encourage to students to contact me in between lessons when necessary. When I was mentoring at the non-profit organisation CoachBright, I really encouraged this because I believe that trust and dependability are fundamental to a successful tutor-tutee relationship.
I have been privately tutoring students aged 5-17 (7+, 11+, 13+ GCSE, A-level) for the past three years across English, Humanities and Sciences. Furthermore, I am a qualified volunteer student coach and mentor at CoachBright; a charity aimed at improving the academic levels of underprivileged children.
I teach Geography, English Literature and Language, Biology, Philosophy, Theology, Religious studies, and French across all academic levels, including 7+, 10+ 11+ and 13+ entry exams. I also offer school application help for parents, personal statement help, interview preparation, study skills, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
