Every week, we honour and show recognition to a student who has demonstrated excellence. This week, we want to acknowledge Jessica age 6, whose confidence has made her shine!
School is not always the easiest place for a student to show their true character or ability. An individual’s needs can struggle to be met in a large classroom, and the loudest children often get the most attention. Our Student of the Week Jessica has been chosen because she has found her own voice and true expression working with her Tutor Isabella!
From the very beginning, Jessica has shown herself to be a quick and capable learner who applies new knowledge easily. She has worked incredibly hard and always listens very carefully to instructions. There is one aspect of her progress, however, which has brought so much joy to her tutor: Her confidence.
Now that Jessica has been given a one-to-one learning environment, her willingness to express herself has shown marked growth. With each lesson, her personality is shining out more and more. She is becoming comfortable putting herself forward, sharing ideas and opening up to show what she’s really about.
This week, Jessica has taken on complex comprehension tasks and handled them brilliantly. She has also kept up a great pace in Maths, applying her knowledge to a variety of topics. Her description of activities and excitement for the coming holiday was a delight for her tutor. It left Tutor Isabella wishing that every student was as bubbly and energetic as Jessica!
