My name is Ben and I am a Medical engineering graduate with a real interest and passion for the Sciences and Maths. I hope through my teaching I can spread this enthusiasm to my pupils.
By persevering and using my own unique methods I am able to use my past experiences to help others achieve the highest grades possible. My techniques also enabled me to enjoy the process of learning. I really hope to transfer this joy into my lessons and see my pupils excel at topics they once found challenging.
As a tutor, I am a supportive and encouraging individual with a wide range of interests including sports, music, travel and science. I hope to get to know my pupils and incorporate their interests into lessons whenever relevant. This can help enable me to increase engagement and build rapport.
My enthusiasm for teaching also brought me to work for an educational technology start-up. This focused primarily on producing learning materials for ADHD pupils. This insight into learning difficulties has been valuable. I hope to bring forward my knowledge into lessons and keep them as engaging and exciting as possible being their Science and Maths tutor.
My experience with private tutoring spans from helping with 11+ entrance exams to assisting with university tutorials. I have also supported working professionals to attain the necessary technical qualifications. My experience has mainly covered maths, engineering and science, up to degree level. Although, I also have experience with TEFL, after completing a level 5 course and teaching at a school in Colombia.
