Description: Kristina is a Qualified Play Therapist and First Class Graduate in English Literature. She specialises in Psychology and English up to A Level. Here is an outline of her tutor profile.

About Me

Hi, I’m Kristina, a qualified Play Therapist and First Class Graduate in English Literature and Drama. I mainly specialise in Psychology and English up to A Level.

I love reading, theatre, dance and nature, and I’m passionate about social and environmental justice, mental health and well-being.

My primary subject passions and expertise lie in English Literature & Language, Reading, Drama & Theatre Studies, Psychology and Spanish.

My ethos is for education and learning to feel like a safe space for any individual so I approach lessons with patience and enthusiasm, meeting the individual where they are at.

Whilst remaining focused on the subject at hand and following a structured lesson plan, I like to invite opportunities for playfulness and creativity around the topic and allow flexibility for individual needs.

Teaching Experience

My experience spans over 10 years of working and volunteering to support children, young people and young adults.

I do this through creative education and teaching, play therapy, mentoring, advice services, and applying for theatre and youth work.

Currently, I volunteer as a 1:1 online tutor for refugees learning English for the first time.

In addition, I support children through online therapeutic mentoring sessions, teaching coping mechanisms, emotional literacy and psychoeducation to help them face challenges and improve their well-being.

I have 2 years of experience working in schools as a Play Therapist and 4 years of experience as a mentor for students facing financial difficulty. I was able to offer them advise, signposting and training sessions for money management.

Prior to this, I worked for 2 years as a classroom assistant & support worker at a trauma recovery charity, helping children through Creative Education in 1:1 and small group scenarios, plus mentoring through outdoors and creative play in after-school activity groups.

Further Experience

I have also co-directed a theatre company which included facilitating drama workshops in schools and colleges.

This offered young people opportunities to learn about and address social justice issues.

In addition, I have volunteered as a primary class teacher and 1:1 English tutor in South Africa & Latin America, as well as volunteering as a youth worker for several years in the UK.
