I am an English and Science Tutor, and a native English speaker. For the past five years, I have been teaching ESL to a wide variety of students. My first position was teaching ESL in a small city called Daqing in China. From there I worked my way up very quickly. At the start of my second year, I was promoted to being a Foreign Director for the school. This involved recruiting new staff and providing training. I led discussions about improving the time spent with our students, making classes more meaningful and memorable. Since returning to England, I have continued to teach ESL on several online platforms.
I have a BSc degree in Biology. During my studies, I spent a lot of time volunteering in primary schools. I taught younger students about plants, trees, and insects. I also helped to run a program called Wildlife Explorers, which would run every Sunday morning. Our goal was to educate local children about ecosystems, wildlife, and what we can do to protect these in the future.
I am passionate about teaching and feel it is an immensely rewarding job. It is amazing seeing a student’s skills improving and knowing that I had a key role in helping them. I always focus on boosting a student’s confidence and helping them to relax in my classes. This is important because it allows the students’ skills to develop much faster.
