Maths, English and Spanish Tutor Freddie

Description: Freddie is an experienced online tutor and a university graduate with a bachelor degree in Spanish. He specialises in tutoring KS1/KS2/GCSE Maths, English and Spanish. Here is an outline of his tutor profile.

About Me

Since graduating from the University of Nottingham, my time has been spent split between the UK and abroad.

I worked for the British Council for schools in Spain.

Forced home by Covid, I continued teaching in England as a teaching assistant, before becoming a tutor, both online and face-to-face.

Even before graduating, a year of my course was spent abroad (in Peru and Cádiz) where I worked in schools.

Over the years, I have worked extensively with children across the age and ability range, both in the UK and abroad: I have taught, tutored and even run summer camps.

I believe in an interactive and enthusiastic approach to learning.

If children engage, they will learn so much more effectively.

My specialist areas are Spanish (to GCSE level), 11+ English and Verbal Reasoning and KS2 English and mathematics.

As my mother is a teacher and a published author of 11+, KS2 and KS3 books, I have always been drawn to teaching and she always helps to ensure I am well resourced.

I have travelled extensively in Spanish-speaking countries and have acquired a good understanding of wider culture.

Also, I am a keen sportsman, enjoying football, tennis, cricket, table tennis and circus activities, including juggling and slacklining.

Teaching Experience

I have taught Spanish to GCSE level students, along with Maths and English (including the 11+) to primary school children, at a tuition centre in Maidstone and independently.

These included one-to-one and group work. During the pandemic, I taught these lessons online.

I have always offered an engaging and interactive approach to my lessons to ensure the best quality of learning for my students.

In my previous role as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, I had a variety of different responsibilities.

These included extensive one-on-one work, where I helped students of all abilities approach education positively, develop their English and Maths skills and grow in self-esteem.

Previously, I have also worked as a language assistant in primary and secondary schools in Peru and through the British Council in a primary school in Madrid.

My main role included working with Spanish students on a one-on-one and group basis.

I would assist them with their development of English as a language, especially with regards to speaking and pronunciation.

As an online tutor, I pride myself on delivering high-quality lessons, which support students in their wider studies.
