Grammar School Tutor Anashe

Description: Anashe studied at Dartford Grammar School for Girls where she received 9A*s and 2 As at GCSE. She has an exceptional academic record and her most distinctive trait is her calmness and confidence in examinations. Here’s a snippet of her tutor profile.

I am someone who aims always to push myself to achieve what others perceive as unattainable. I have both methodical and logical approaches to problem solving, to which I plan on sharing and rekindling in others.

I am a learning enthusiast, and during my secondary years, I have adopted a mindset similar to the Kaizen philosophy. I believe that academia should be to be constantly improved, in various methods of continuous gradual improvements. I apply this mindset especially in my tuition, by gathering feedback, and actively using it to make sure each lesson is better than the previous one.

I have a mature and attentive mentality, which has led me to striving always to be the best I can be. With that, I can be the best teacher.

• My key skills include my ability to work under pressure, communication and thus the ability to tackle problems and issues before they arise

• I am very good at following instruction, alongside using my own intuition when independence is vital

• I pride myself on independence, and so my ability to lead a team, to motivate others to do their best

• I am often praised for my punctuality, dedication, and my hard-working nature.

I have provide private tuition both online and in-person. I structure lessons personally to best aid individual potential and progress, then move on to a more structured lesson plan, where tests were completed under timed conditions and followed examination expectations, specifically for the 11+ for example.

I also review work, specifically for English Language and some Literature texts, where I would annotate the work, giving pointers and possible improvements, as well as predicting an overall grade. Feedback for ‘what went well’ and ‘even better if’ would be noted at the end.

Mentoring Lead at Dartford Grammar School for Girls.

I have been a lead mentor and this further represents my my dedication to tutoring and teaching, and my commitment to aid academic progress.

This involved me setting lesson plans for up to twice a week, with a group set of students from 4 – 6 students, in varying age groups, where they communicated their strengths and weaknesses, and with that I was able to build a regiment of what we would work on throughout the course of the academic school year.

Furthermore, this also involved setting additional work outside of lesson hours where students can build on what we have just covered, and i can adequately review and mark work to assess progress.

My overall range of teaching experience is for students aged 7 (primary school) to GCSE students (aged 16).
