Computer Science and Coding Tutor Tyler

Description: Tyler has a First Class Honors degree in Computer Science and specialises in tutoring students in Coding. Here is an outline of his tutor profile.

About Me

My name is Tyler Brooker, I’m 21 and I’m a Computer Science graduate from the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

I discovered from an early age that I was very good at programming and solving problems logically. I started programming in Year 8 using Scratch. It is an educational tool to teach children. The main project was a game of our choice, and mine was a shooter game complete with music, different weapons, a battle and a moving background. It was great to get such positive feedback about the work I had created. My main goal is to help students achieve a high level of understanding of Coding so they to can be creative.

For my GCSE’s, I chose to do Computer Science, Triple Science (further chemistry, biology and physics), Geography, Resistant Materials and Music. I ended up getting four A stars respectively.

I spent three years studying Computer Science at the University of East Anglia, which was an incredible experience. I helped start a society called the Music Recording and Production Society, where I and the other leaders would teach aspects of music production to other university students.

As someone who has spent a lot of time in the field of Computer Science, I am very comfortable teaching this to younger students. Especially those doing a GCSE or A-level. I can teach the Python programming language, as well as the basics of Java and Lua.

Teaching Experience

I have previously taught GCSE Maths to various year 11 students who needed additional support at King Edwards VI School. It also gave me the opportunity to work with autistic students. This developed my teaching methods greatly and I catered lessons to suit the students individual needs. My students appreciated my teaching, and it seemed as if my advice and lessons were helping them.

I was involved as a committee member who taught students in the Music Recording & Production Society at UEA.

Many students have come to me for help with their Computer Science coursework, including undergrads. I continue to teach Computer Science and coding with Telios Tutors. I hope to make a big impact on my student’s education and interest in such a fascinating subject.
