Mandarin and EFL Tutor Toni

Description: Toni specialises in teaching Mandarin and EFL up to GCSE level. Here is an outline of her tutor profile.

About Me

Hi, my name is Toni and I specialise in tutoring Mandarin and EFL up to GCSE level.

Growing up my parents loved to travel so we lived in several different countries including Germany and Australia.

This upbringing instilled in me a great sense of adventure and I too love to travel and have had the opportunity to visit many different countries.

I’ve been to Sir Lanka, Egypt, France, Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, and Singapore just to mention a few.

I began learning Chinese in 2000 to engage in voluntary work supporting refugees living in the UK from China.

We have travelled to many parts of China and lived in the North, South, East and West of China for a period of about 8 years.

I have gained a deep understanding of Chinese Mandarin and the culture and have many close friends who are Chinese and I can honestly say learning Mandarin has enhanced my life in so many ways.

I have a passion for education and delight to share my knowledge with young learners who are just starting to choose their paths in life.

Teaching Experience

I have many years of experience teaching both on a voluntary and professional basis.

I have taught English as a foreign language to children and adults for more than 10 years, face-to-face in China and online.

In China, I taught in kindergartens, primary and middle schools and training centres.

Classes ranged from one to one to 50+ students and my youngest ever student was 2 years old.

I also have many years of experience tutoring Mandarin Chinese up to GCSE level.
