A passionate, experienced and highly qualified artist, educator, researcher and project manager. Lily is a highly creative, visionary and innovative arts and education practitioner and leader. She has a broad, wealth of experience across the arts and education. She has worked as a secondary school head of art, where she designed schemes of learning and extracurricular programmes for art and photography and line managed multiple colleagues.
Lily ran a high achieving Art department, which positively impacted the whole school, local and international communities. Lily has led many community arts projects as well as project managed and realised large-scale set design productions for theatre, film and events. Lily recently led her first research project ‘Heart of the Matter’ an explorative, case study addressing the marginalisation of the arts in the UK education system.
She used new media and creative methods to mobilise stakeholder engagement to collectively address the case for arts education in the 21st Century. ‘Heart of the Matter’ exemplified a new era in practitioner-led research and inquiry-based educational evolution through ‘communities of practice’ and ‘innovation hubs’ of educators, arts practitioners, gallery representatives and academics. Lily is in the process of setting up her own R&D platform for arts education.
Teaching Experience
Qualified Art teacher. 9 years experience in secondary education teaching KS3-KS5. Was Head of Art and Photography for four years. Masters graduate with a specialism in art pedagogy, BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
• Associate of the ‘Academy of Innovation’, London- Oct 2016 to date.
Lily is the Academy for Innovation’s specialist associate in pedagogy and creative research methods. The Academy offers courses for school leaders and educators in leading innovation and change powered by inquiry and evidence-based insight.
• Freelance Artist Educator, London – April 2016 to date.
-Organised “The Creativity Mind-Set Symposium” at London’s Wellcome Collection in partnership with A.N.D as part of her research project to promote the currency of the arts in education as a discreet and interdisciplinary vehicle and to collect data on how best to address the marginalisation of the arts from key stakeholders across arts and education.
Lily has led collaborative, cross-curricular projects and research-led initiatives in London with multiple partners including The Big Draw, Design Thinking Ltd and the NSEAD in schools and community inspired by the power and reach of the arts and ‘Heart of the Matter’ including prototypes for immersive learning environments come art installations and collaborative, creative problem solving and graphic recording.
Lily has written on art education topics for NSEAD’s AD magazine.

Main Duties:
o Led the curriculum and standards for KS3-5.
o Played a key role in achieving Artsmark gold award in 2015.
o Significantly raised attainment in teaching subjects.
o Set up the school art gallery and arts festival and project managed large legacy art projects for the school in collaboration with third parties, galleries, local, national and international communities.
o Was awarded staff of the month 3 times for contributions.
o Set up the A-level courses in September 2013.
